Dust N Bones
The first gig I can remember was in 1991 in the Malibu Hills, for an outdoor concert with a bunch of other well-known bands. The first song was called Dancin With Death, with a very long intro with just the band on the stage, when Billy came running out he had a look in his eyes I had never saw before. I didn't know if he was going to do it. I know he was very nervous and I told him to release his spirit to the crowd and everything would be cool. Somewhere in that song Billy turned a musical corner and magic happened in Malibu that afternoon. I could not believe the crowd's reaction through the show. People were dancing and going crazy, no bands were allowed encores except ONE! I 'm proud to say I was a member of that band.
I talked Billy into fronting a band when I first got to know him, but I couldn't do it alone. I brought in Jimmy Noon, long time friend and vocalist of mine from New York. Billy and Jimmy were a song writing smash with songs like, War No More, Prisoner for Your Love, Nothin Is My King, Git some On Me, and many others. .....Chud
Billy and I had begun working together on a project....A band called DUST 'N' BONES.
"The band was a young songwriting entity with a lot of talent and a lot of interest from both labels and fans..."
and
"The Record Company people loved Billy.
Club promoters called constantly wanting DUST 'N' BONES.
The word was that this band with the charismatic handsome singer/songwriter was a Hot ticket.
The band was renowned for being sober and hard working."
A&M Studios granted free studio time to a hot young producer/engineer named John Bogosian who arranged for 4 days in Room C next to Bruce Springsteen and down the hall from Guns N' Roses.
The main priority was to emerge with a version of the song WAR NO MORE for the purpose of making a music video to be produced by Lawrence Bender, whose work with Quentin Tarantino has made him the hot young producer of the 90's." .....Chud
