The film Looking for Jimmy tells the story of one day in the lives of two friends, Al and V.
All guests have arrived for the barbeque thrown by V., who celebrates her 26th birthday, except Jimmy, an school friend of Al. After a long moment of which it's not really clear where they are at, the two friends decide to leave to explore Los Angeles. They are accompanied by Ernie the brother of V. and an aspirant filmmaker, who initially would film the birthday party of his sister in order to give to their parents.
Looking for Jimmy is a comedy made like a documentary or a home-movie.
The whole movie was shot in 24 hours without interruption, except for the pauses needed to change the batteries of the camera. And they got permission to film in the real setting,the streets of Los Angeles, instead of in a studio. Following the rhythm of all kinds of coincidental situations the two main characters run into, the story was contructed by filming at the actual events that took place, showing scenes that weren't forseen in the script
