I would never attempt to do a review of MacArthur Park after the brilliant review from Juli, I will share my personal take as a fan and movie goer.

Viewing this movie one time is NOT ENOUGH, I told Billy on night two I had wondered if I could sit through it three times. I found I not only could but it was a learning experience each time.

As a take it or leave it Hip Hop - Rap music fan, I was blown away by the soundtrack. I felt the music blended and pulled the movie together, it set the pace and took the movie goer on a wild ride.

As a heavy duty movie goer for over 30 years I thought the ensemble cast was extraordinary, with movie goers seeing faces they will recognize from other films and sit and try and place a face. I was truly amazed to see the performances that Billy got cast to reveal. I would say it is a very intense film but with a sense of family, for not giving up on your family, or your fellowman. To see pass the weaknesses and frailities that we all share. That with love and faith in each other you can triumph.

As I said with each viewing I learned more and am looking forward to one more showing.

I am not an expert by any sense of the word but the camera work and the way Billy broke the tension more than once to keep the movie viewer from going over the edge was great. I feel Billy has found his nitch and am waiting to see what else he has up his directing sleeve. I feel the public and fans are in for a few surprises from this man and am so happy this site and fanbase is in on the ground floor for the discovery. --------Maxine 2001 Taos Talking Picture Festival
